You don't need to read music - on the versatile uke you can knock out folk, rock, blues, jazz, pop, country, and classical music, tunes old and new! Duncan Perry is a multi-instrumentalist who has been performing and teaching the ukulele for 17 years. Duncan will introduce you to essential chords and playing skills using familiar songs and a no-stress learning approach. Plan on lots of laughs along the way! The uke is small and portable, and playing the uke is both fun and good for your brain. All you need to join this Zoom class is a playable ukulele, electronic tuner or tuner app., and computer or tablet. Instructional materials included. Once you master the basics you won't want to stop. Sign up, have a uke on-hand, and let your musical journey begin!

Taking Awesome Photos with Your iPhone/iPad Camera

This course by BoomerTECH Adventures is a step-by-step guide to taking beautiful photos. It is packed with easy-to-follow instructional videos that explain and demonstrate how to use your iPhone/iPad camera. This course is made for you if you are learning to use your camera for the first time or if you want to significantly upgrade your skills and abilities. This course is not to make you a professional photographer but will teach you how to take excellent photos! And have fun. You will learn how to use your camera to take photos, portraits, slo-motion, panos, and more. You will learn about camera settings for focus and exposure, High Dynamic Range (HDR) to adjust light in photos, and finally composition. In addition to the step-by-step instructions, we offer inspiring photos to illustrate the tips and suggestions in the instructional videos. This course package contains all the materials you need: Tips for Getting Started, summaries of each of the four instructional videos, and a list of all course resources (videos and printed articles). All resources are accessible from the course booklet PDF. Students will need a strong internet connection and a Mac computer, iPad, or iPhone to access videos and articles.

Your iPad is the gateway to the world when you open the Safari app. Safari, Apple’s browser, is superb because it provides a variety of cool features. The Safari iPad app has some differences from the iPhone version. (See our separate course for iPhone, “Unlock Safari’s Secrets on Your iPhone in Just Five Lessons.”) In this course, you will learn what the icons on the top menu do, explore all of the choices on Safari’s opening page, review efficient search strategies, look at the hidden possibilities within the share feature, learn the advantages of reader view, and more.
