More Hidden Gems in Your iPhone/iPad

In our basic “Hidden Gems” course, we explored tracking, slide to type, customizing your control center, and accessing the built-in scanner…among other cool features. In this MORE Hidden Gems course we delve into the additional secrets of our iPhones and iPads. Learn how to set up helpful widgets, control text size, choose an interesting Siri sidekick, access important privacy features, and more. You’ll definitely increase your understanding of the intricacies of your iPhone and /or iPad by the end of this course. This course includes 8 videos: Course overview, edit “For You” slideshows, privacy/security features, quickly start a video recording, Siri sidekick, use folders to organize photos, change text size, and learn the magic of widgets. Other course resources include supplementary videos, articles, and tip sheets. You will have access to BoomerTECH Adventures email for support before, during, and after the class. The course package contains all the materials you need: Tips for Getting Started, summaries of each of the instructional videos, and a list of all course resources (videos and printed articles). All resources are accessible from the course booklet. Students will need a strong internet connection and a Mac computer, iPad, or iPhone to access videos and articles.

Getting your own book published can give you a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. Preethi has published 15 books, and is both a speaker and instructor. She will teach you how to comfortably turn your words into works of art.

Introduction to Alcohol Inks

Painting with alcohol inks is a magical process using isopropyl alcohol (yes, the same alcohol you already have in your medicine cabinet). Alcohol inks are a fluid medium that are hard to control and that is the best part! Once you have learned how to manipulate the inks and the right approach to this medium, you should find it an extremely fun and addictive style of painting! Students should bring their open mind and an adventurous spirit to this class as we explore this fluid medium and techniques. Lab fee: $10 to be paid directly to the instructor at the start of class.

Introduction to Paper Quilling

Students will join Kim on a learning adventure in the art of quilling paper - rolling, shaping and glueing strips of paper to make art forms. Basic techniques will be covered, and students may create various items including cards and ornaments. Come with an open mind and a clothing top that you do not mind getting glue on! Supplies fee: $15 to be paid directly to the instructor on the first day of class.
